  1. All medical devices that hit the market in recent years are suspect. Since the public cannot sue device manufactures there is nothing to keep companies from releasing equipment that hasn't been thoroughly tested. The public needs to aware of this. Cosmetic devices and other medical devices are potentially harmful to your health.

I've read enough posts from cosmetic device victims to see that many different devices by many different manufactures have done harm. DON'T DO LASER! DON'T DO IPL!! It could absolutely ruin your life. Furthermore, these machines don't deliver promises. It's a waste of money. Better, safer options are out there.

  3. I'm sorry, I don't know exactly what you mean by, "Such as what?"

As for sunspots, the best defense is a good offense. Wear high PPD sunscreens that are European formulations made by companies such as La Roche Posay, Anthelios.

There are chemical peels, that in the hands of the right dermatologist (not plastic surgeon), can give much better results for sunspots than lasers or IPL, certainly without the risks associated with lasers and IPL. It only takes one bad IPL or laser incident to change your life forever, and after that there is no going back.

  4. I just had an IPL treatment on July 26th and I have already noticed what looks like a small indentation on my right cheek. I had NO idea that anything like this could happen...I don't know if I am just paranoid after reading all of this, but is there anything you can do to prevent further damage? I had only one procedure done, and it did not cause any immediate burns anything like I have seen in some of these pictures. How worried should I be?

  5. What you may be seeing is residual swelling that gives the appearance of 'dents'. I would not be overly frightened. Since this phenomenon does not happen to every IPL patient, but only a small fraction. Give it time. I know it is scary. But try to relax and see if time resolves the issues. I would recommend that you not take this chance again and refrain from any further treatments with cosmetic devices. It is not worth the risk.

Please feel free to visit our support forum if you have the need. Best of luck.
